Strings Orchestra Acanthus II
The string ensemble was formed in 1967 by students of Tokyo University of the Arts as "Acanthus." A few years later, the members began to base their activities in various parts of the world, and the ensemble temporarily suspended its activities. In 2007, the members reunited and resumed activities as "Acanthus II." At their regular concerts, held about twice a year, they welcome talented young soloists and present a diverse program that includes not only standard string ensemble repertoire but also orchestral versions of string quartets.

弦楽合奏団アカンサスII
1967年に芸大生によって《アカンサス》として結成された弦楽合奏団。数年後、メンバーそれぞれが世界各地に活動拠点を置くようになり、活動を一旦休止する。2007年に再びメンバーが集結、《アカンサスII》を立ち上げ活動を再開した。年約2回の定期公演では、若手実力派のソリストを迎え、弦楽合奏曲のスタンダードレパートリーだけでなく、弦楽四重奏曲のオーケストラ版など、多彩なプログラムを展開している。

Yasunoshin Morita
Studied composition under Yoriko Matsudaira and Frédéric Durieux. He has received numerous awards, including the Japan Contemporary Music Society Composition Newcomer Award and the Valentino Bucchi Prize (Italy); selected for the 2013 and 2023 ISCM World Music Days (Vienna, South Africa); invited composer for the 2017 ISCM World Music Days (Vancouvat). Director of the Japan Contemporary Music Association.

作曲を松平頼暁、Frédéric Durieuxの各氏に師事。これまでに日本現代音楽協会作曲新人賞、ヴァレンティノ・ブッキ賞(イタリア)など受賞多数。2013、2023年ISCM世界音楽の日々(ウイーン、南アフリカ)入選、2017年ISCM世界音楽の日々(ヴァンクーヴァー)招待作曲家。 日本現代音楽協会理事。

Concerto for Double Bass and Strings "Acoustic Layers ... Extreme "
Composed based on the double bass solo piece ‘Impromputu No. 3’ performed at Masashi Yamamoto's double bass solo - The Unplugged Theatre - in January 2024. The solo part has been further developed with the addition of string accompaniment. It will be a new type of concerto, with effective use of props such as bottles and mallets, and improvisations throughout. The performance time is long for a contrabass concerto, and it will be a large piece lasting just under 30 minutes.

2024年1月に行われた、山本昌史コントラバス・ソロ- The Unplugged Theatre- にて演奏されたコントラバス独奏曲『速驚曲第３番』をもとに作曲された。弦楽合奏の伴奏が加わり、独奏部はさらに進化。ボトルやマレットなど小道具を効果的に使い、即興部分も随所に見られ、新しいタイプの協奏曲になる予定である。コントラバス協奏曲としては演奏時間が長めで、30分弱の大曲となる。
