"Masashi Yamamoto Contrabass Solo -The Unplugged Theatre-" won the 24th Keizo Saji Award.

January 26-28, 2024, unaccompanied double bass , four performances over three days that challenged two different programs. We would like to thank all the composers who composed wonderful pieces for this performance, everyone at Atelier Dai Q Geijutsu, all the staff members, all the people who cooperated with us, and most of all, everyone who came and witnessed the performance in the midwinter cold.

2024年1月26〜28日に行った無伴奏コントラバス 、2種類のプログラムに挑んだ三日間4公演。この公演のために素晴らしい曲を作曲していただいた作曲家の皆様、アトリエ第Q藝術の皆様、スタッフの皆様、ご協力いただいた全ての方と、そして何より、真冬の寒い中ご来場いただき、見届けていただいた皆様、本当にどうもありがとうございました。

ISB competition Grand Prize

I am delighted to announce that I have won the Grand Prize in the Contrabass and Electronics category of the ISB (International Society of Bassists) David Walter Composition Competition 2024!

ISB (International Society of Bassists), founded in 1967, is a US-based organisation with about 3,000 members in more than 40 countries, which organises biennial international competitions, double bass competitions, composition competitions and maker competitions. It holds an international convention, a double bass competition, a composition competition and a maker's competition every two years. It is the largest double bass-related organisation in the world.

The Grand Prize in this category is the first Japanese winner.

The announcement was made on the ISB website.

The award-winning piece Real Time was premiered in July 2023 at the Momijozaka Project vol.2 《Complicated SOLO》 organised by the Kanagawa Prefecture Music Hall.
